The game runs mostly great on Windows 10 with some widescreen fixes and is cheap as chips on GOG (which also includes an expansion)! If you ever enjoyed playing anything like Splinter Cell or Dishonored, games where you’re constantly thinking on your feet and trying to avoid detection, I really recommend you give it a go. There’s plenty of content with about 20 missions and they can take me anywhere from an hour to 2 hours. This may not be fun for some, but for me it’s a super addictive gameplay loop that is extremely satisfying when you get it right and deal with a situation you’ve been tackling for 30 minutes. So you’re constantly saving, trying different strategies, dying or getting spotted and reloading until you get it right.
Each enemy is an obstacle that you must come up with a solution to deal with, because you can die pretty quickly and you don’t want to set off any alarms. In 1942, commandos raid France to destroy the docks at St Nazaire, a virtual suicide mission that turns out to be the most successful of the war. These little scenarios happen constantly. After the Allied catastrophe at Dunkirk in 1940, Britain begins a daring program of training select troops to strike fast and deep behind enemy lines. You stab the stationary guard and then harpoon the patrolling guard and quickly hide the bodies, before diving into a building to stay out of sight. You choose your moment to strike when the patrolling guard turns around from the stationary guard. One guard is stationary and the other is patrolling back and forth. For example, you come up against two enemies and you decide to deal with them using your Green Beret and Marine. And if I start a new game, I hear music then. Note that I hear SOUNDS (gun shots, commandos talking, etc.) but no music. You have to come up with a plan and execute it on the fly. Anyway, my problem is this in the 'original (non-expansion) - behind enemy lines ', I dont hear music when I play the game. What makes the game interesting is that it’s all in real-time with no pause. The green beret will be the mainstay for most people but all of them are useful. I won’t ruin it for those who haven’t played, but it’s pretty diverse. You’ve got 6 different commandos, each with a different skillset. I didn’t really know what to expect as I’m not a big fan of top down stuff.
I thought I’d give the entire series a go and so picked up the first game, Behind Enemy Lines. I haven’t played it in a very long time but I do remember it being enjoyable (if difficult). Strike Force is basically a stealthy FPS. In order to cut off the rapid advance of enemy reinforcement troops, a small commando team will infiltrate. German reserve forces break through Allied defenses in the Ardennes region. In December 16, 1944, Hitler deploys a new surprise operation. My introduction to the series was Strike Force, which I had on PS2. The Force of Circumstance is the 18th mission of Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines. For those who don’t know, Commandos is a series that was developed by Pyro Studios in the late 90s and early 2000s.
